Study Abroad
The first thing that came to mind when I was given the opportunity to study abroad was the fact that I did not want to go on my own, lol. Call me a whimp but although I knew I'd make friends wherever I went, it's still nice to have someone you know already. I'm glad my friend and fellow Fish Scholar Michelle had the same thinking! We also shared the desire to go someplace in Europe. We knew it would be much more pricier than Asia (and oh boy am I feeling it..lol) but this is an opportunity of a lifetime so might as well take advantage right?
Copenhagen seemed like an amazing place to go. Plus in the Oprah show they said it was super safe, so that gave my daddy peace of mind (right daddy?) Michelle left Hawaii first to travel with her family. We wanted to get to Europe early so we would have time to travel. That is why we arrived more than 2 weeks before school starts on the 26th. Michelle arrives in Denmark tomorrow night. We got tickets to go to Rome from the 19th-23rd and it's a 7 hour train ride to either Sweden or Norway from Copenhagen. If we could somehow get ourselves to London and Paris then I would be a happy camper. I also wanted to go to Prague, just because I think the name is pretty awesome.
Last Thoughts
When Michelle and I were looking at housing options, we were honestly looking for the "cheapest" although it still cost us $1800 for just 6 weeks (oh em). We're staying in a town called Valby which is 15 minutes away from the campus. Come to find out, Valby is the city in which my aunties live! How random right? Out of all the housing options we could have chosen, it was this one. We walked from my aunties' apartment to the student housing yesterday. They showed me the bus stop we would have to take and the stores around (711 ftw!). It is safe to say that together with all the cup-a-noodles I brought and my aunties' house a walk away, I will not starve...tehe.
Ending this blog with a verse seems appropriate :D
All things work together for good to them that love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28)
